Perbedaan Forbid vs Prohibit, Gift vs Present?

Hari ini kita akan membahas perbedaan forbid dan prohibit. Makna dari kata forbid dan prohibit adalah larang. Tetapi fungsinya berbeda.

Perbedaan forbid dan prohibit

Forbid berarti memerintahkan bahwa sesuatu tidak boleh dilakukan.

Contohnya : My mother forbids me to leave the house.

Prohibit berarti melarang sesuatu menurut hukum atau perintah resmi.

Contohnya : We are prohibitted from smoking on school grounds.

Perbedaan gift dan present 

Gift adalah sejenis barang hadiah yang bersifat formal. 

Contoh: a gift to the library

Present adalah barang pemberian yang bersifat pribadi atau individual

Contoh : a birthday present

Speaking Game for Students

 

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog :)

Today I am going to share you some games in English.

The game called Chain Game. 

The steps :

1. Divide students into several teams and have each team form a line. 

2. Explain that the first student is going to say a vocabulary word from the unit learned.

3. The next student will repeat the word and then say another one. 

4. The third student will repeat the first two words and add another one and so on.

5. The team that says the longest chain of words wins. 

Next game is Word Tennis Game

The steps :

1. Divide the class into two teams

2. Pretend that there is a ball that bounces back and forth between the two teams

3. The first student in team A will say a word and pass the ball to team B. (for example : words about activities) 

4. The first student on Team B must also say a word and then pass the ball to the second student on team A. 

5. Teams get a point each time they say a word

6. If a student repeats a word or cannot answer, the opposite team gets point

7. Repeat the whole process for different words sets.

Today I would like to share you an English game called conversation relay.

THE STEPS:

1. Divide students into several teams with equal numbers of students and have them form lines.

2. The student in line asks the student in from of him or her a question using the grammar structure. 

WHEN'S YOUR BIRTHDAY? You may use whatever sentences you want.

3. The other student answers and turns around to ask the next student the same question.

4. When the question and answer reach the front of the line, the first student in the line runs to the back of the line and asks the question again. 

5. This continues until the first student is back in his or her original position. The first team to achieve this wins. 

Writing Game for Students

Hello everyone :)

Today I would like to share you an English game called Spelling Relay Game

THE STEPS:

1. Organize students into teams and have them form a line.

2. The teacher call out a word

2. The first student has the marker and write the first letter of the word

3. He or she passes the marker to the next student, who writes the next letter of the word

4. Students can only write one letter at a time

5. The first team to correctly spell the word gets a point

Variations can be made with vocabulary words or grammar structures.

Indefinite Pronoun dan Latihan soal

Wonderful English, blog. Indefinite Pronoun digunakan jika kita ingin menunjukkan seseorang atau sesuatu yang kita tidak tahu pasti, atau identitasnya tidak begitu penting.

Contoh:

anyone : siapa saja          everybody : semua orang    nobody : tak seorangpun       somebody : seseorang

anything : apapun            everyone : semua orang      no one : tak seorangpun        someone : seseorang

                                         everything : segalanya        nothing : tak ada                    something : sesuatu

Indefinite pronoun yang berakhiran -thing mengacu kepada benda, ide, keadaan, atau aktivitas. 

Indefinite pronoun yang berakhiran -one atau -body mengacu kepada orang. 

Secara umum, somebody, someone, something digunakan untuk kalimat positif. 

Anyone, anybody, anything untuk kalimat negatif.

Hari ini kita akan membahas tentang partitive. Lalu apa partitive? 

Partitive adalah kata yang menunjukan suatu bagian dari keseluruhan dan digunakan untuk menunjukan:

- Satu bagian penuh 

a loaf of bread, a bar of soap, a bar of chocolate

- Sebagian dari keseluruhan 

a slice of bread, a pinch of salt, a slice of cake, a slice of meat, a drop of water

- Suatu kumpulan

a pack of cigarettes, a box of matches, a sheet of paper, a jar of jam, a pair of shoes, a tube of toothpaste, a bottle of milk, a pot of tea

Hari ini kita akan membahas suatu materi tentang ADVERB. Adverb atau kata keterangan adalah suatu kata yang berfungsi untuk membatasi arti suatu kerja, kata sifat atau kata keterangan itu sendiri.

Di dalam bahasa inggris, adverb terdiri dari beberapa bagian:

1. Adverb of manner

Adverb of manner adalah suatu adverb atau kata keterangan yang menerangkan bagaimana terjadinya suatu kejadian atau peristiwa. Jadi yang perlu digarisbawahi disini adalah bagaimana terjadinya

Contohnya: honestly, slowly, quickly, etc

He rides the car slowly.

2. Adverb of place

Adverb of place adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan tempat terjadinya suatu kejadian atau peristiwa. Intinya adalah tempat terjadinya

Contohnya: here, there, above, below, etc

I will come there.

3. Adverb of time

Adverb of time adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan kapan terjadinya suatu kejadian atau peristiwa. Jadi tentang kapan terjadinya

Contoh : now, today, tomorrow, daily, etc

I eat martabak today.

4. Adverb of frequency

Adverb of frequency adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan seberapa sering terjadinya suatu kejadian atau peristiwa. 

Contoh : once, always, never, sometimes, etc

I sometimes sleep overnight.

5. Adverb of certainty

Adverb of certainty adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk menunjukkan kepastian atas suatu kejadian atau peristiwa. 

Contoh : surely, definitely, obviously, certainly, etc

I definitely support you.

6. Relative adverb 

Relative adverb adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk menghubungkan dua klausa atau pernyataan. Nah, relative adverb ini biasanya ada di dalam noun clause, adjective clause, atau adverbial clause

Contoh : why, when, where, etc

I want to know where you live.

7. Interrogative adverb 

Interrogative adverb adalah suatu adverb yang digunakan untuk membuat suatu pertanyaan. Jadi kata tanya dalam bahasa inggris termasuk kedalam interrogative adverb. 

Contoh : where, why, when, how, etc 

Why do you love me?
